Renewal 。 Redemption 。 Transformation
Will Belshah
Manchester, 1994 - Present

"Anger and civil disobedience are sometimes the only way to change things."
Belshah shelved their practice for years. Always an artist, but
when they didn't see themselves represented during education due to a hangover of Section 28, they thought it wasn't for them.
Now aged 30 - and a few dozen trips to Derek Jarman: Protest!
and an ADHD diagnosis later - what had been a slow trickle of
work has entered a prolific period.
Activism and protest coalesce with art, focusing on establishing
and continuing dialogues with other artists, politicians and the
public around social issues.
