In this painting, Chen Hao anthropomorphises human organs using human figures. The couple represents the lungs, the second most vital organ in the body. They are shown drinking from a heart, with the straw symbolising a blood vessel. A spine is above the girl's head, further emphasising the anatomical theme. The background is painted red, symbolising luck in Eastern culture while also representing blood. The frame of the painting is decorated with green plants, symbolising the lungs as the "forest" of our body while providing a contrasting colour to the red. Finally, all the animals in the painting represent germs, symbolising the external threats that try to invade our bodies.
